From your to-do list to getting the job done.
Tell us what needs doing, add the details that help explain the job and send your request. We've made the process simple whether you have one job or a whole list.
Start with the type of work you need.
Add a description, location and useful photos.
Your job information is checked so the request is clear.
We contact you about the request and practical details.
The agreed work can then be carried out at the property.
You don't need to diagnose the problem yourself.
A home repair is not always easy to categorise. A door that won't close could need an adjustment, a repair or new hardware. A wet area could involve a tap, connection or pipe. That's why the most useful starting point is simply explaining what you can see and what you need done.
Choose the service that seems closest to your job. If you're not sure, you can choose Other and describe the situation in your own words.
For many jobs, photos make the request much easier to understand before practical arrangements are discussed.
Here's what happens after you start.
The better the initial information, the easier it is to understand the work and discuss the next practical step.
Choose the service that fits your job.
Start with Handyman, Furniture Assembly, Plumbing, Electrical, Painting, Locksmith, Gardener or Cleaning. If none of them clearly fits the problem, choose Other.
- Handyman & general home repairs
- Furniture assembly
- Plumbing
- Electrical work
- Painting
- Locksmith work
- Gardening
- Cleaning
Tell us what needs doing.
Describe the problem or the result you want. You don't need technical terminology. Information such as the number of items, rooms, fittings or affected areas can make the request more useful.
- What is broken or needs installing
- How many items are involved
- Where in the property the job is
- Relevant measurements if you know them
- Anything unusual about access or the situation
Add photos when they help explain the job.
Photos can show the current condition, the item that needs work, the surrounding area or the type of fitting. The request form accepts up to five photos.
- One photo showing the complete area
- A closer photo of the problem
- Existing fittings or connections
- The furniture or item to be installed
- Visible damage where relevant
Add your postcode and preferred date.
Your postcode and house number show where the job is. You can also select a preferred date so the request contains the practical information needed to discuss scheduling.
- Postcode
- House number
- Preferred date
- Your name
- Phone number and email
Your request is reviewed.
Once submitted, the information is used to understand the type and scope of the job. If something important is unclear, additional information may be needed before the practical details can be arranged.
- Clarifies the type of work
- Shows the expected scope
- Helps identify useful preparation
- Reduces unnecessary back-and-forth
- Makes the request easier to discuss
Discuss the job and practical arrangements.
Once the request is clear, the next step is discussing the work and the practical arrangements that apply to your specific request.
- Keep the relevant area accessible
- Have supplied items or parts available if agreed
- Mention parking or access issues when relevant
- Keep useful product information available
Get the agreed work done.
The final step is carrying out the work that has been arranged for your property. For a list of general handyman jobs, keep the complete list available so each agreed task is easy to identify.
- Clear the immediate working area
- Keep pets away from the work zone
- Have relevant items ready
- Keep your job list nearby
A few details can make a big difference.
You don't need to write a long technical explanation. A clear description plus a few useful details is usually much more helpful.
Think of it as showing the job to someone who has not seen your home yet.
Got a whole home to-do list?
For general handyman work, you can describe several jobs in the same request. This is useful when a collection of smaller tasks has built up around the home.
Simply choose Handyman and list each job clearly in the description.
